Profile of Barrie Parker

Barrie Parker has had an involvement with health and safety for most of his working life in high-risk industry, taking on board additional safety responsibilities during his years at senior management level. During this time he learnt at first-hand how important it is to comply with legal requirements and introduce effective safety management systems. With this wealth of experience and working knowledge of safety management, Barrie has worked entirely in the field of health and safety for over 15 years now. It was during the mid 1990's that he saw a need, within the safety market, to provide a cost-effective and approachable consultancy for small and medium sized companies to meet their legal duties. After much hard work he formed his own consultancy, with business partner Tracy Rowberry, in June 1998.

Barrie is very hands-on and still champions the importance of providing a friendly, yet professional source of safety support for small and medium sized business in the East Midlands. Barrie is a Fellow Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), a Technician Member (IOSH), as well as an active member of the Newark & Sherwood branch of the Federation of Small Businesses and Newark Business Club. He is also a member of the NOSHA (Nottingham Occupational Safety and Health Association).
